La Mare De Carteret High School presents Annie by Luciane Wilson, Molly Bougourd and Neve Benstead.
The Rehearsals Part One
So our school has decided to perform the musical Annie. We decided to start learning the dance to it's a Hard Knock Life, this is a great song to work with as it's up beat and there are a lot of movements involved. We watched an online video to get some ideas but changed and made them our own. Then we started incorporating brooms to our dance and moved to the beat.
Luciane was funky to the beat and was very good at picking up the moves. The moves started off quite simple but then moved on to more advanced box steps. Molly found it useful to run the steps a few times so that she was able to practise the dance a few times before timing them to the music. Neve watched the dance routine as she is doing the technical elements of drama and is working on lighting. This meant she was able to watch the dance routine and give us tips on where we could improve.
Molly says she cannot sing but would like to be an active member of the ensemble. She just loves dancing. Luciane would like to be one of the orphans in the play. It's a shame there are no twins in the cast as Luciane and Molly would make a great pair! Maybe we will be able to persuade Mr Dodd to add some twins into the script!
Just a short blog from us this week, join us at rehearsal on Thursday in the school hall from 3.05pm - 5.00pm!
It's a hard knock life!
Luciane, Molly and Neve.
