Saturday the 6th of October 2018 La Mare did the Swimarathon at Beau sejour. For half an hour everyone did as many lengths as they could complete then for the next half we got all the inflatables out and did some of the lengths on them. It was great fun getting the inflatables out and seeing people slip and slide off them into the water. Some of the girls were showing off their dancing skills at the side of the pool which helped create an awesome atmosphere.
At the end we did a traditional La Mare belly flop competition. In my opinion James Rabey won the competition with an amazing belly flop. He even had red marks on his chest for his efforts. The 13-14 year old swimmers won the Swimarathon Cup for the most lengths out of the schools and attended the presentation evening.This was the third year running La Mare De Carteret High School won the cup.
It was a fantastic event and it was great fun getting to swim with all my friends and see our school fill the whole pool. I cannot wait until next year when we get to do it all over again!
